The Joyce Family Foundation Youth in Care Tuition Grant at the University of Manitoba

It has long been the vision of Ron Joyce, and by extension, The Joyce Family Foundation, to provide assistance to underprivileged youth to chase after their educational dreams. “Keep your head down and work hard until you’ve met your goals,” Ron Joyce has advised youngsters. When the University of Manitoba approached the Foundation with a request to support youth who are currently in, or who have been in, the care of Manitoba’s Child and Family Services, the university met with approval. With a pledge of $1 million to establish The Joyce Family Foundation Youth in Care Tuition Grant at the U of M, many more students will be able to overcome financial barriers and obtain a university degree. This is the first gift of its kind The Joyce Family Foundation has made in Manitoba.

As an expression of thanks on behalf of the University of Manitoba, Stephanie Levene and Danielle Dunbar presented Ron Joyce with a stunning hand-made Star Blanket. The tradition of the blanket is to wrap the receiver in the spirit and love of the giver, a gesture warmly received by Ron Joyce and the members of The Joyce Family Foundation.
